Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School (ACNSTHS) hosted the 2024 Division Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Caravan despite heavy rainfalls due to the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Carina, insisting on providing quality education and ensuring the safety of the learners in Antipolo City.
On July 23, the City Schools Division Office of Antipolo held a division-wide program at ACNSTHS Covered Court with the theme “Bayanihan para sa MATATAG na Paaralan," inviting school heads, teachers, stakeholders, parents, volunteers, performers, and learners to participate in the said event.
Dr. Lerma L. Flandez, Schools Division Superintendent, acknowledged the presence of the participants and guests in spite of the inclement weather due to the typhoon.
“Maraming-maraming salamat po for showing up. ‘Yun palang panalong-panalo na po dahil andito kayo despite the heavy rains. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for your comfort,” the superintendent said in her welcoming remarks, officially opening this year’s Brigada Eskwela across the City of Antipolo.
Cooperative Action
The City Schools Division Office of Antipolo pitched for the whole city to work together to accomplish tasks this upcoming academic year, ensuring the quality of education, facilities, and safety protocols that meet the students’ needs.
In his speech, School Governance & Operations Division (SGOD) chief Dr. Jonathan P. Domingo said that Brigada Eskwela is an annual event to promote the development of the community and to enhance the skills of learners through education.
Moreover, Dr. Phil Acop shared a magic trick with the use of nails during his message, symbolizing that cooperation will make everything that seems impossible possible.
“If we want to get far, we must go together. Kahit mahirap ang hinaharap, kaya natin. Kung sama-sama at tulong-tulong ay kayang-kaya,” he added.
Meanwhile, the San Isidro National High School Bukluran Dance Troupe graced the program with their welcoming salvo and Brigada Eskwela 2024 theme song.
Community Support
Counselor LJ Sumulong gave a speech on behalf of the City Mayor, Hon. Casimiro A. Ynares III, highlighting that the local government has supported the learners and will continue to aid the students’ needs.
“Education is the top priority in the prioritization of the government of Antipolo. Hindi po biro ang investment ng iba’t ibang sector ng Antipolo, so nakikiusap ang mayor na mag-benefit ang susunod na generation sa investments,” the counselor added.
TrueLife UK, Toyota Taytay, Premium Bikes Corporation, China Bank Savings, PLDT Antipolo, Matid Law Office, Philippine Amusement and Entertainment Corporation, City Savings Bank, Save the Children, My 101 Optical Clinic, Antipolo City Fire Station, Philippine Army, Antipolo PNP, and Revel Team Sports were the present stakeholders during the event and shared donations for the schools of Antipolo.
