We launched PEN (Political Economy of Neoliberalism) Workshop in the Fall of 2017 to create an academic space and community committed to the political economic analysis of neoliberal capitalism: its historical roots and present characteristics as well as its social and political consequences. We bring together scholars from a variety of disciplines, including economics, philosophy, sociology, history, political science, social work, and law. The Workshop meets several times each semester, at Tel Aviv University or on Zoom, for in-depth discussions on work-in-progress papers or chapters. In addition, we have been organizing academic conferences, public events, and invited talks dealing with burning questions related to the political economy of contemporary capitalist societies. In May 2023, we hosted our first international conference, with a special keynote by Isabella Weber (Amherst).
