해당 연구실은 전력전자 연구실로 1981년에 전희종 교수님에 의해 설립되고 2010년부터 현재 박종후 교수님의 지도하에 관리되고 있습니다.

총 24명의 박사와 95명의 석사를 배출하였으며 졸업생들은 LG, 현대, 만도, 온세미 등 다양한 회사에서 전기차, 배터리 등 산업에 이바지하고 있으며 대학교에서 교수로서 연구를 하며 교육과 학문에 정진하고 있습니다.

전력 전자는 전력 반도체 소자를 이용한 전력 변환, 전력 개폐에 관한 기술을 취급하는 공학으로 넓은 의미로 전력 변환과 제어를 중심으로 한 응용 시스템 전반의 기술입니다. 해당 연구실에서는 인덕터와 같은 소자 단위부터 계통 연계형 인버터와 같은 시스템 단위까지의 다양한 연구를 진행 중입니다.

추가적으로 Texas A&M Univ, Nanyang Tech Univ, Rice Univ, Newcastle Univ 등 해외 대학들과 지속적 학술 교류 및 파견을 통하여 연구를 진행 중에 있습니다.

The laboratory was established in 1981 by Professor Heejong Jeon as a power electronics laboratory and has been managed since 2010 under the guidance of Professor Joung-hu Park.

A total of 24 doctors and 95 masters have been produced, and the graduates are contributing to the electric vehicle and battery industries at various companies such as LG, Hyundai, Mando, and On Semi, and are devoting themselves to education and scholarship by conducting research as professors at universities.

Power electronics is an engineering that handles technologies related to power conversion and power switching using power semiconductor devices, and in a broad sense, it is a technology for overall application systems centered on power conversion and control. The laboratory is conducting various researches ranging from device units such as inductors to system units such as grid-connected inverters.

In addition, research is underway through continuous academic exchanges and dispatches with overseas universities such as Texas A&M Univ, Nanyang Tech Univ, Rice Univ, and Newcastle Univ.
