The Doubtfires owned the largest horse ranch in the state of Texas, but what was about to happen at their ranch was far more important than being successful in the business.
It was an early spring morning, and the family was heading to their nursery barn for the arrival of a newborn foal from Shartrusse, their top bred broodmare.
Mrs. Doubtfire bolted into the stall, as the movement halted.
“Baby, look, this new foal has wings!”
Mr. Doubtfire ran to the newborn, and with open arms plunged in for a bear hug, all while remaining extremely puzzled at the thought of a horse being born with wings.
“The foal appears to be only a few hours old, so maybe this abnormality will resolve itself and disappear,” he thought.
As the months passed by, the horse proved to have more wit and agility than any horse they’d ever seen before, all while keeping his wings and constantly trying to utilize them. Mr. Doubtfire couldn't help but notice the laughs and giggles from the surrounding barn animals, which made him very upset.
“Now you, my friend, are something special; I will call you Pegasus after the great constellation, because you are a leader, a miracle,” Mr. Doubtfire said, as he remembered the stallion could reproduce and if given offspring with wings, the whole world would be changed. Pegasus was his treasure that he was able to share with his wife.
He lay dreaming of a day when he would travel across the world on Pegasus’s back, admiring the other beautiful flying horses that would be of Pegasus. He was suddenly shaken out of his dream when Pegasus flew far above the barn and planted his hooves for the landing for the first time.
Full of joy and laughter, Mr. Doubtfire ran to his wife and bombarded her with all of his happiness and surprise from Pegasus.
Directly after sharing such an enjoyment with each other, Mr. Doubtfire ran to congratulate Pegasus.
"Pegasus, that was amazing," he shouted.
Pegasus replied with a soft whinny, and bowed for Mr. Doubtfire. In pure amazement, Mr. Doubtfire began to tell Pegasus many stories about life.
"You know, I never thought such a miracle could happen on this ranch, but I'm sure glad it did. I want to tell you stories about my life, stories about how you fail sometimes in life, but that makes success that much sweeter. Mrs. Doubtfire and I travel all around the world when time is plentiful, which we don't see much of these days working at a ranch. Spending time with your family is very important, and we are your family now. But I want to tell you something special; you are a miracle and you will somehow change this world," Mr. Doubtfire said while Pegasus just sat there with disbelief, his mind constantly boggling. "Spending time with your family...."

Far smarter than the typical horse, Pegasus observed every detail about his family, friends, and life growing up.
“I’m missing out on something and I can’t quite pinpoint what,” Pegasus thought.
Lost in thought, he continued to live each day in hopes of figuring out what his future held, and what his purpose in this life was. A few months later as Mr. and Mrs. Doubtfire performed their daily routine of feeding horses, Pegasus figured out what he was missing; it clicked. He remembered the talk Mr. Doubtfire had given him at a very young age. He grew up watching the love between Mr. and Mrs. Doubtfire, and he wanted to feel what they felt. He had no idea what love was, but he was determined to figure it out and find his.
“Mom and Dad, I’m missing true love. I know horses may not be supposed to feel this strong of a connection to another, but I want to. I want to know what it’s like to love beyond parent and child love. I want to travel the world with my love like Mr. and Mrs. Doubtfire do when they have free time,” Pegasus whispered to his birth parents, trying to keep it a secret from the Doubtfires.
To find love, Pegasus knew what his journey entailed; he would fly all around the world until he found “the one,” as he always heard the Doubtfires discussing how they knew they were right for each other. Pegasus would settle for no less.
And so the journey began…
