The theory of pseudoboiling is used to assess how the variability of thermophysical properties of a fluid close to the critical point affects the design and performance of heat exchangers - in particular gas chillers.
In this paper, phenomenological theory (i.e. Kolmogorov's -5/3 law and scaling etc.) is used to derive a novel expression for the Stanton number for turbulent flows past rough surfaces. The paper was presented at the Eurotherm conference 2021 in Lissabon, Portugal.
Diffusion of lattice hydrogen in a solid metal plate with a hole under the influence of stress and temperature gradients is investigated. This work suggests that temperature gradients may significantly influence hydrogen embrittlement in gas turbines operating on pure hydrogen. The paper was presented at the Eurotherm conference 2021 in Lissabon, Portugal.
This article - written in collaboration with Synano - analytically estimates the heat transfer enhancement effects caused by nanoparticles deposition on the heated surface of an evaporator in a thermosyphon.
