The Practical Emergency Cash Transfer (PECT) training by the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement (RCM) is designed to prepare participants to confidently serve as members or leaders of cash teams during emergency responses. It provides the skills needed to assess, design, implement, and monitor Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) in line with RCM standards, using the Cash in Emergencies (CiE) toolkit.
The training follows a hands-on, scenario-based approach with minimal use of formal presentations. Participants will work in groups to apply the CiE toolkit to assess needs, analyze contexts, and design effective cash assistance programs.
By the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to:
Demonstrate general knowledge of CVA and develop CVA responses in a disaster scenario using assessment information and response analysis tools.
Design CVA programs using tools for set-up and implementation, including Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), working with Financial Service Providers, distribution, and encashment.
Include risk assessment, mitigation measures, and cash monitoring processes throughout the program.
It is KEY that you complete the following online trainings available on the IFRC Learning Platform:
