The Practical Emergency Cash Transfer (PECT) training of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement (RCM) aims to build the confidence of participants to deploy as a member or leader of a cash team in an emergency response. The training will equip participants with the skills required to assess, design, implement and monitor Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) using the RCM Cash in Emergencies (CiE) toolkit and meeting RCM standards for Cash and Voucher Assistance.
The training will be using a ‘learning by doing’ approach, with very little formal PowerPoint presentations. Instead, there will be group work based on a scenario, where participants will be asked to assess, analyze and design cash assistance using the tools in the CiE toolkit.
By the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to:
Demonstrate general knowledge of CVA and develop CVA responses in a disaster scenario using assessment information and response analysis tools.
Design CVA programs using tools for set-up and implementation, including Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), working with Financial Service Providers, distribution and encashment.
Include risk assessment, mitigation measures and cash monitoring processes throughout the program.
