You are expected to arrive at the Tocumen International Airport Panama (PTY)

To go from the airport to the hotel you can take an UBER ride. UBER is available in Panama and is an approved transportation mean by the IFRC Security Team. 

The ride between Tocumen International Airport and Holiday Inn Panama Canal is approximately 35-50 min depending on traffic. 

Prices are subject to fluctuation and surges, but standard one-way rates to City of Knowledge for Uber is 35-50 USD.

To take an UBER exit on the arrivals level, and cross the street to the parking area. Meet your driver at the parking row you select in the app, between Rows 15 and 18.

On that note, we recommend that you download the UBER application to your phone before travelling, so that you can use it to move from the airport to the hotel and the other way around.

Currency exchange and withdrawal 

The use of ATMs is very common in Panama. Check with your bank regarding foreign ATM access for additional information.

The Republic of Panama is a dollarized country, and also has its own metallic currency, for decimal transactions called “Balboa”. In case that you require to exchange your local currency money to US dollars, you can do it at the airport

Panama has very good communications, three companies offer the latest in cell phones and 4G /5G mobile networks. Public phones are available, and landlines are many and efficient. Roaming is available .

Weather

Panama has a tropical climate, and the temperature is usually uniform throughout the year. The average temperature is 30 degrees Celsius during the day and 28 degrees Celsius at night. The weather is divided into the rainy season and the dry season.
