Uwe Altrock has been Professor of Urban Regeneration and Planning Theory at the University of Kassel since 2006 and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Planning since 2016. With a Ph.D. from the TU Berlin, Altrock's academic expertise focuses on urban regeneration and redevelopment, contributing significant insights to contemporary planning theory. Prior to his work in Kassel, he was junior professor for urban structures at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus from 2003 to 2006 and deputy professor for neighbourhood development at the Hamburg University of Technology (TU) from 2002 to 2003. He was also editor of Planungsrundschau, a series of publications on planning theory, until 2020. Altrock's research and editorial work has positioned him as a leading voice in the fields of urban regeneration and planning, influencing both theoretical frameworks and applied methodologies in urban studies.
