MPSL
The Royal Flight School is a proud member of the MPSL (Muscat Primary Sports League). Selected children in Year 3 - Year 6 are given the opportunity to experience sports in a friendly and competitive environment playing other schools in Muscat.
U11 ATHLETICS
Boys and Girls from Year 5 - Year 6 took part in the MPSL U11 Athletics event at The Sultan School. The children entered individual track events such as 100m, 200m, 300m 1,200m and field events high jump, long jump, triple jump and shot putt. All boys and girls performed extremely well with some exceptional performances from Sultan Al Ghaithi (Y6) who came 2nd place the 200m event and Matthew Minchin (Y5) who won the Triple jump event. Overall, out of 11 schools the boys finished in 4th place whilst the girls finished in 5th place.
U9 ATHLETICS
Boys and Girls from Year 2 - Year 4 took part in the MPSL U9 Athletics event at The Sultan School. The children took part in a variety of different track and field events such as High Jump, Hurdles, 800m, Sprints and more. The boys and girls showed great teamwork, fitness and effort throughout the day completing all events with great scores. Out of a total of 10 schools, the U9 Boys finished in second place overall whilst the U9 Girls finished in 1st Place. Awesome job, boys and girls.
U9/U11 CROSS COUNTRY
On February 4th, 2026 the Royal Flight School hosted the U9/U11 MPSL Cross Country event. A total of 11 schools and over 200 children attended the event. Boys and girls from Year 3 - Year 6 represented the Royal Flight School and demonstrated great determination, fitness and teamwork eventually helping the school to finish in second place in the U9 Boys and U11 Boys categories. The girls did extremely well with the U9 Girls finishing in third place and the U11 Girls finishing in 1st Place. An honourable mention to Dylan Munro (Y6E) for her excellent individual performance finishing in second place in the U11 Girls category and Sultan Al Ghaithi (Y6F) for winning the U11 Boys category.
U9/U11 GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Girls from Year 3 - Year 6 attended the MPSL Girls U9/U11 Gymnastics Competition. The girls had to learn a floor and vault routine to perform in front of judges and an audience. There were some pleasing performances and all the girl's received medals for their efforts and performances. Great Job!
U9/U11 AQUAHTLON
Boys and Girls from Year 2 - Year 6 took part in the MPSL Boys & Girls U9/U11 Aquathlon at TSS. As usual the children performed with great determination and the encouragement that they showed each other was truly an excellent sight to see. The U9 Boys and Girls ended up finishing in 2nd place overall out of a total of 6 schools, whilst the U11 Boys finished in 3rd place. The U11 Girls had an excellent showing and ended up finishing in 1st Place, winning the category. A shout out to Dylan Munro for her impressive individual performance finishing in 2nd Place in the U11 Girls.
U11 BOYS FOOTBALL
Boys from Year 5 & 6 took part in the MPSL U11 Football competition at ABA. The boys had some excellent performances and even better team goals throughout the day, but sadly luck was not on their side as they conceded a few last minutes goals which effected their overall finishing position. With 2 wins, 3 draws, and 2 loses the U11 Boys finished 4th out of a total of 8 schools.
U9/U11 AQUATHLON
The Royal Flight School hosted their first MPSL event of the school year, the U9/U11 Boys and Girls Aquathlon. Selected Boys and Girls from Year 3 - Year 6 had to swim distances of 100m/150m and then run a distance of 1.25km - 1.5km depending off their age. Out of a total of six schools the Royal Flight School had an extremely impressive display coming in 1st Place in all four categories (U9 Boys, U9 Girls, U11 Boys & U11 Girls). There were some excellent individual performances; in the U9 Boys Category, Fraser Cummings finished in 3rd Place overall with Behrad Kheirandish 2nd and Wyatt Munro in 1st Place. In the U9 Girls Category, May Rafferty finished in 2nd Place overall, whilst in the U11 Boys Category, Sultan Al Ghaithi finished in 2nd Place and Matthew Minchin taking 1st Place. Finally, in the U11 Girls Category Farida Mohammed finished in 3rd Place and Dylan Munro finished in 2nd Place.
U9/U11 BOYS BENCHBALL
Boys from Year 3 - Year 6 took part in the U9 & U11 Benchball Tournament at ABQ. With one of the smallest squads (due to multiple children being sick) the boys learnt the game quickly and showed excellent improvements throughout the competition. Out of 7 teams, the U9 Boys finished in 5th Place and the U11 Boys finished in 6th Place.
U9/U11 GIRLS BENCHBALL
Girls from Year 2 - Year 6 took part in the U9 & U11 Girls Benchball Tournament at PDO. The Girls showed great teamwork, skills and determination throughout the event. Out of a total of 8 schools, the U9 Girls finished in 4th Place, whilst the U11 Girls made it into the finals where they sadly lost in extra time to finish in 2nd Place. Great job, Girls!
U9 BOYS FOOTBALL
Boys from Year 2 - 4 took part in the U9 BOYS Football Competition at BSM. The Boys showed great determination and effort throughout the event and once again represented the Royal Flight School with excellent pride and respect. Out of 12 teams, RFS Team A finished in 5th Place, whilst RFS Team B finished in 9th Place
U9/U11 GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Girls from Year 3 - 6 took part in the U9/U11 GIRLS Gymnastics Workshop at the PDO school. The girls where taught gymnastics routines based around the floor and vault disciplines. The girls will continue to practice for the MPSL Gymnastics competition later in the year.
U11 SKITTLEBALL
Boys and Girls from Year 5 & 6 took part in the U11 Skittleball event at the BSM school. The children had a great showing and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Out of a total of 8 schools, the BOYS team finished in a very respectful 4th place, whilst the GIRLS team made it all the way to the final where they were sadly beaten finishing in 2nd place overall.
U9 SKITTLEBALL
Boys and Girls from Year 3 & 4 took part in the first MPSL event of 2025/26 (U9 Skittleball event) at the ABA school. The children performed well and showed great honesty and determination during their games. The BOYS team won all three of their round robin games and went into the final where the sadly lost, finishing a very impressive 2nd out of 8 schools. The GIRLS team won 2 out of their 3 games which placed them 3rd in table. After a final competitive game, the girls team finished 6th out of 8 schools.
