Everyone will become angry at different points in their life. It isn't until that anger becomes disproportioned that this anger becomes unhealthy and a possible sign of intermittent explosive disorder (IED). When experiencing IED, one may maintain explosions of anger that may leave you feeling embarrassed by your words and inappropriate actions. ADHD or a personality disorder may also increases the struggles with angry and/or violent behavior. Many diagnosed with IED also find they battle with co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, or substance abuse.
