Have you found the perfect internship? Congratulations! Here's what you need to do to get registered for your internships credits.
To apply for an internship with the Department of English, you must submit these documents to the faculty internship supervisor:
A Completed English Department Internship Application Form. This form is to be completed with the help of your on-site supervisor and the faculty supervisor. The form specifies your duties, your working hours, and other important information.
A Signed Affiliation Agreement. This form specifies the legal obligations of the University. If the organization has previously filled out an Affiliation Agreement, then you may skip this step; however, please determine which department received the initial Agreement, so that your faculty supervisor can make sure a copy is on file.
An Unofficial ESU Transcript. You can print out an unofficial transcript from MyESU on the Student tab > Student Resources > View Transcript.
A Request for Non-Classroom Credits form. If your internship application is approved, you and your faculty supervisor will fill out and sign this “pink card” to add ENGL 486 to your schedule. Hard copies are available in the English Department in front of the secretary's desk (on the file cabinet beside the faculty mailboxes), or you can use the PDF version linked to above. Note: We no longer use this procedure. The managing professor puts in a request through the Banner system. English 486 is then added to your schedule.
If you will be working offsite (i.e., not on the ESU campus), you also need to read the Title IX Information for Internship, Practicum, Student Teaching, Service Learning and Study Abroad Students, and Supervisors and sign the acknowledgment form (included in the link).
