Graduate students will conduct their research activities in the Department of Advanced Science and Technology for the master's course and Doctoral Program for Future Industry-oriented Basic Science and Materials for the doctoral course. At present, our research endeavors are spearheaded by a dedicated team of two esteemed staff members (Professor Kenta Kokado and Assistant Professor Shizuka Anan) and three ambitious students, all united by our guiding principle: the cultivation of an engaging and fulfilling academic journey, where research and student life harmoniously intertwine. We are pleased to welcome applications from not only across Japan but also from around the world. Our international reach and diverse student body enrich our academic community and research endeavors.
For comprehensive information regarding the application process, we kindly direct you to the TTI website, where you will find all the pertinent details needed to facilitate your application.
With the aim of enhancing students' presentation skills and broadening their academic horizons, we fervently promote and support their active participation in both domestic and international conferences and symposia, thereby fostering a global perspective in their research pursuits. Upon reaching a certain stage of data compilation and analysis, we proceed with the submission of applications to esteemed conferences, thus ensuring that our research findings are disseminated and recognized within the scholarly community. Our laboratory consistently takes part in prominent domestic academic conferences, including events such as the Annual Meeting of CSJ (March), the Annual Meeting of SPSJ (May), SPSJ Symposium on Macromolecules (September), and the Symposium on Organic Crystals (November). Our overarching objective is to provide every student with the opportunity to deliver presentations at conferences at least once a year, or more frequently if they so desire. These external presentation opportunities, beyond the confines of the university, serve as invaluable experiences that contribute significantly to students' preparation for their future roles in society. Moreover, our active engagement extends to international conferences, with a considerable number of our students having previously attended such events, broadening their academic exposure on a global scale.Participating in international conferences not only offers valuable academic insights but also serves as a rich social learning experience, exposing students to diverse cultures distinct from their own, thereby fostering a well-rounded global perspective.
