This is an exciting time for immunology. Researchers strive to answer increasingly complex questions ranging from genetic, molecular, and cellular scales to human hosts and populations of humans and pathogens. Immune dynamics is equally challenging: fast processes of infection dynamics and affinity maturation generate long-term memory and evolutionary patterns of pathogens. Concepts rooted in physics and computational models play a key role in overcoming these challenges. Therefore, we aim to bring together scientists from different fields open to quantitative, cross-scale approaches in immunology.
Cellular scale: molecular and cellular biology of immune response.
Organismic scale: generation and maturation of immune repertoires, immune-pathogen evolution within hosts.
Population scale: global dynamics of pathogen-immune co-evolution, links to epidemiology.
This is the 6th in a series of meetings designed to build a coherent scientific community in quantitative immunology and adjacent fields. Previous meetings took place in Cargese (2022), Cologne (2020), Paris (2018), and Boston (2019, 2017).
The meeting will start in the afternoon of Monday the 28th with a tutorial session directed at young researchers and those who wish to enter the field. There will be thematic sessions on Tuesday and on Wednesday, and a poster session on Tuesday evening. We will close with a general discussion on Wednesday around lunchtime. The detailed program will be communicated to registered participants.
