9/27/22, 9:45-10:45am: Small group orientation with PCHC small group/team leaders; virtual unless specified otherwise by team leaders. Review/submit any required documentation to your PCHC leader(s) as directed. *Note: we are aware that this session has been scheduled for Rosh Hashanah and apologize to those learners for whom this scheduling creates a barrier to participation. If this conflict is relevant for you, please notify Dr. Haley asap and we will work with team leaders to reschedule.
10/24/22 - 11/3/22, 8:00am-5:00pm. Some team descriptions specify evening and/or weekend learning assignments and activities in the community; time spent should total 30-40 hours/week. See below for the Shared Calendar of activities during the two-week clerkship; these are open to all teams at the discretion of team leaders. Please follow noted guidelines for preregistration.

11/4/22, 10:00-12:00pm and 1:00-3:00pm: Presentation Day: Peer and community learning session with 20-minute oral presentations from each team with 10 minutes for questions. See Presentation Day page for details.
11/7/22, 8:00am: Students’ peer feedback on two other teams’ presentations must be submitted online by Monday morning to receive credit.

7:30-8:00pm Setting the Tone: Diagnosing Skin Disease in People of Color - Join the providers at Family Health Center of Worcester for the third in a four-part education series created by SOM student Christopher Fay and family physician Tracy Kedian through an MLK Semester of Servce grant. There is a dearth of information about skin diseases in people of color. Current medical professionals had training with images, almost exclusively, of white patients. 2:00 pm Primary Care For You: Building a model to strengthen primary care delivery and outcomes Join Wayne Altman MD FAAFP and Katherine Gergen-Barnett MD for a discussion centered on the lack of access to primary care and an incredible proposal gaining support in the state house to revise funding of primary care in a manner that would provide universal access for all residents of MA in a prepaid Per Member Per Month model.
Dr. Altman is Professor and Chair of Family Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine and President of the Family Practice Group at The Sagov Center for Family Medicine. Dr. Gergen-Barnett is Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Boston University Medical School and Vice Chair of Primary Care Innovation and Transformation at Boston Medical Center. 2:30 Watch Party with 4:00 Panel Discussion of A Place to Breathe (https://underexposedfilms.com/a-place-to-breathe), a film that focuses in part on the work of the Metta Health Center in Lowell and on immigrant and refugee healthcare generally. Join us for a watch party or view on your own. Following the watch party, Dr. Marlin from the Metta Health Center will moderate a panel discussion with the film's Director/Producer, Michelle Grace Steinberg from Underexposed Films, who is also a healthcare practitioner at Street Level Health Project, and Rodrigue Kalambayi, a Community Health Worker and Congolese refugee who is featured in the film.
