Hi there! I am Shekevia Washington. I have been in the role of an educator for the past 8 years. I enjoy inspiring and guiding students toward success. After six years in the classroom, I transitioned into my current role as the Career Development Coordinator, where I help students discover their passions and create pathways to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. During the summer, I work as a teaching assistant for the Duke Pre-College Program, supporting high school students in enriching academic experiences. Outside of work, I like staying active, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending quality time with my family. I also love participating and supporting community events in the Triangle area.

Prior to teaching, I worked in Human Resources in the Finance/Accounting industry, running student and internship programs, as well as some time working in higher education. I have a BBA in Human Resource Management and Marketing, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). A highlight of my career was getting to live and work abroad in Australia. I decided to move into teaching because I wanted to make a difference in our community and inspire our future business leaders. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, baking, and traveling.
