What I offer....

I offer my home and love of dogs to dog parents who do not want their loved ones held in a kennel 23 hours a day.  I offer safety and security to dog parents who do not want their loved pets to be left alone with 25 other frightened dogs at night.  Dog parents want their dogs to be in a home away from home;  they want them in a home with couches to lay on, beds to sleep in, a large fenced 1/4 acre grassy yard to romp in and loving laps to be held on in.  

I am only one person with occasional help from my daughter - also a dog lover.  I will not accept more than 3 dogs boarding not including a small crossover in time.  Depending on size or temperament I may only take 2 for boarding.   I will also allow up to 2 daycare dogs in conjunction with boarders.   I have kennels and crates set up indoors for safety or support if needed or wanted.

 I am privately insured with PetCare Insurance Co. for both your peace of mind and mine.

What I require...

For safety, I require a Meet and Greet to check your dogs temperament and to learn a bit more about them and you.  It is also a great time to ask any questions of me  and my process. 

All dogs must be spayed and/or neutered (except young puppies).

I require a complete vaccinations record prior to any stay.  Rabies and DaPPV  vaccines are mandatory.  I highly recommend a Bordetella vaccine every 6 months, and at least 2 weeks prior to boarding.

What I am Not...

I am not a Vet or a Vet Tech...  I can give medicine as directed by you.  I can do minor first aid, stop bleeding, wash ears, and if be, bring your pet to a Vet or the Emergency Vet in Latham.  We all hope this is not needed, but accidents and mishaps can happen.  

I am not a Trainer... Bad habits are not for me to fix.  I will tell you of any habits that I think should be corrected, and I can recommend a trainer if you are interested. 

I am not a Groomer...  I do not have the facilities here to wash my own dogs.  I must take mine to the pet store.  If I feel your dog is in need of an actual washing, I will take them to the pet store for a good wash.  This only if I feel comfortable leaving other dogs alone in my home.  This will be at your expense. 

I am not a Dog Walker...  I have broken both my legs, have had a hip replaced and need the other replaced soon.  I have a large yard, and our lab Spencer, that should give any dog plenty of exercise if they want it.

I am not a Bus Driver...  No, I can not provide pick up and drop off service.

Last but not least, I do not have a receptionist.  I request you always contact me about 5-10 minutes prior to drop off or pick up so that I may secure all dogs and greet you at the front gate.

Please do not enter my gate without me letting you in.  I do not always know how any dogs will react.   I also do not want any escapes.  If you are in the street waiting please text me or beep your horn and I will come out as soon as I can.
