Privacy Policy for PawMap
Last updated: 05-07-2026
Introduction
PawMap ("we", "our", or "us") is a community app for mapping stray dog feeding across India. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information: Name and email address when you register
Phone Number: Collected when you sign up as a volunteer for a task, or optionally when reporting an emergency — only shared with the specific shelter/vet you're coordinating with, never shown publicly
Location Data: Your approximate feeding area location, stored to show you on the community map and verify check-ins
Feeding Activity: Check-in data, dog counts, and emergency reports you submit
Shelter/Vet Information: For shelter and veterinarian accounts — name, city, contact number, coverage area, website, and Instagram handle
How We Use Your Information
To show your feeding zone on the community map (never your exact location or identity)
To track your feeding streak and badges
To connect feeders with nearby shelters and vets
To display emergency reports to nearby community members
To share your phone number only with a specific shelter/vet after you sign up to volunteer, or after a shelter/vet confirms they're responding to your emergency report
What We Never Share Publicly
Your name is never shown publicly on the map
Your email is never shared with anyone
Your exact GPS coordinates are stored securely but never displayed publicly — only your general feeding zone is shown
Your phone number is only shared with the specific person you're coordinating with (a shelter/vet), never shown to the wider community
We never sell your data to advertisers or third parties
Location Permission
PawMap requests location permission only to:
Verify your feeding check-in is near your registered area
Show your approximate feeding zone on the map
Filter nearby emergencies and volunteer tasks
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. We use industry-standard security practices, including row-level access controls, to protect your information.
Children's Privacy
PawMap is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
