As a member of the previous Council's Economic Development Committee, I am proud to share details of a key initiative for the Town's 75th Anniversary: the Clarenville History Panel. The Committee, including Councillors Donna Maloney Brown, Councillor Deidra Strowbridge (Chair), Deputy Mayor Paul Tilley, and Economic Development Officer Colin Holloway, strategically focused on commemorating themes related to our town's waterfront. We commissioned a designer to develop topical profiles and select compelling photographs that vividly reflect key aspects of Clarenville's marine history.
The History Panel is now installed on Marine Drive in the newly renovated Waterfront Park. This entire area is being transformed into a vibrant public space that will also feature Picnic tables and a viewing platform. This new park and panel not only honour our rich marine heritage but also provide an engaging new gathering place for the community and visitors.
