About Me

I'm Brazilian, easygoing, and always up for a good conversation, especially if it involves economics, mathematics, or just about anything interesting. Outside work, you'll probably find me trying to pet animals I meet on the street or looking for a good place to eat.

Economics and mathematics are two things I genuinely love. I see them as ways to be creative while trying to understand the world and, hopefully, contribute something useful to it. My relationship with mathematics is a bit unusual. Growing up, I attended public schools where we often didn't have math teachers, so I had quite a few gaps in my education. Somehow, mathematics ended up becoming one of my greatest interests. These days, I sometimes think I'm more of a mathematician than an economist, although I still love both fields.

Most of my academic work involves mathematical modeling, but my interests go well beyond that. I enjoy sociology, philosophy, political science, and the conversations that emerge when these subjects meet economics. One of my favorite things about academia is getting to know people with different backgrounds and learning from how they see the world.

Before focusing on academia, I also worked as a professional musician. It was a challenging but wonderful part of my life, and music is still very important to me. I don't have nearly as much time for it as I'd like, but I still play guitar and sing whenever I can. So, if you ever want to talk about music or play something together, I'm in!
