Paulo Medeiros
Assistant Professor of Economics - Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and a core faculty member of its Graduate Program in Economics. I am also the Director of NEDLab, a research group focused on nonlinear economic dynamics.

My research focuses on macroeconomics, mathematical economics, and nonlinear dynamics. I am particularly interested in understanding why economies sometimes recover from disturbances while, at other times, they experience persistent instability or changes in economic regimes. Much of my work examines how financial frictions, expectations, heterogeneity, and feedback mechanisms influence these outcomes. My research is mainly theoretical, using mathematical models and computational methods to study problems in macroeconomics and macro-finance.
