Narrative
I decided to use this EdPuzzle for my lesson on Imperialism nd Mansa Musa because it provided all the relevant information that I needed my students to know through the use of technology (M4.1). Most of my students enjoy working in small groups and they also enjoy using their Chromebook (U4.1). Creating EdPuzzles provides another form of engagement that can spark interest in the material. As each group begins their EdPuzzle, I have the group leader turn their volume up while everyone else follows along on their own screens with their volume turned down. When each question came up, the group collaborated and determined the answer. Sometimes there were disagreements. When students disagreed on an answer, I had them watch the section again and provided some assistance when I heard the answer.
Several students enjoyed the accent of the speaker and commented on his wit and charm. The speaker did a great job of relating Mansa Musa to individuals that my students have heard of (Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk). The images and depictions within the EdPuzzle enhanced the assignment and made it fun (U4.2). Each question that was asked focused on key points and allowed me to gage how much my students were getting what I needed them to know.
