Color theory has long posited that certain colors work together in complementary ways and that colors themselves can have an impact on their viewers. Colors have held symbolic functions in everything from Buddhist spiritual art, to modern psychoanalysis, to graphic design theory. When used in mandalas, the color choices that creators use often infuse the piece with even greater symbolism and meaning. (https://www.mandalasforthesoul.com/mandala-colors/ )
"In this project you will get back to the basics of art and design (simplified form, shape, color, line, texture, pattern, composition and process), as you study a composition and abstract from it."

Symmetrical design creates balance through equally weighted elements aligned on either side of a center line. On the other hand, asymmetrical design uses opposite weights to create a composition that is not even, but still has equilibrium. Symmetrical designs are always pleasing, if not occasionally boring. Asymmetrical designs are bolder and can bring real visual interest and movement to your composition.
The principle of proximity is simply the process of ensuring related design elements are placed together. Any unrelated items, should be spaced apart. Close proximity indicates that items are connected or have a relationship to each other and become one visual unit which helps to organize or give structure to a layout.

"Students will review different types of perspective and create a 2 point perspective drawing of buildings for their portfolios. You will need to demonstrate that you have an understanding of different types of perspective drawing - especially 2 point perspective."
