The Willows of Crosston

The story of the love between a man and a little girl. Set in Hertfordshire, England,

"It has a most poetic feel to its composition, and places a great deal of emphasis on the new life which three children, especially Joy, bring to all whom they meet, while the novel carries with it an atmosphere of light and love."

The Vicar of Kimpton 1998

OLD-FASHIONED THEY MAY BE

Short stories, some set in Hertfordshire, England.

Moving and right from the heart.

THE BEGINNING

The interlude of THE WILLOWS OF CROSSTON.

And so it was that on a Friday evening in the first week of December, with Brandy safely ensconced at the home of William, and his dog, Ben, and Jerrica locking the front door behind them, the three girls trooped down the garden path of their home to Joseph awaiting in his car. They stepped in uncertainty of what was to come; through the shadowy night around them; and felt the chill of the air: and were, at the same time, warm and ice-cold with expectation and excited anticipation.

THE BROOM

A musical play in two acts based on Cinderella.

Anna, shy and timid

Mary, almost the opposite

Linnette, aloof and snobbish

Three girls growing up in a Hertfordshire village

"An emotive story of inner longings, a sweet and true character. Woven together with homely people of Anna's family and friends from different walks of life, and her various adventures in and around the area she lived. Described by the author in much detail of what appears a beautiful and interesting part of England's countryside and village life. Without giving too much away, the conclusion of the story was eagerly awaited, and personally satisfying."

Anne, unloved by her parents, determines to write stories and tell them to her younger sisters.

COMMENTS

'Little Anne' A very moving story with a sweet main character who, in the face of saddening hardships, shone with potential and blossomed. Although unrecognized of those expected, yet blessed with great kindness from others. An absorbing and enjoyable read, holding attention and suspense until the finale. (Updated)
