Paul Ashe e-CV - About me

After finishing the CELTA course in London, which I started while doing my finals at Univeristy in Liverpool (yes, I do tend to enjoy doing several things at once), I moved to Murcia, Spain to start my first teaching job.

After just two years I was offered the position of DOS/Manager of the school and had even put a deposit on a house. However, the offer of a General/Exam and Business English teaching position in my wife's native town of Cordoba was an offer that I am glad I finally (albeit with some difficulty) accepted.

I have lived in the enchanting town of Cordoba, Spain since 1999 in a neighbourhood whose streets are lined with orange trees. I have adapted well and my many friends say I'm one of them now and they wouldn't let me leave for the world! I think they're just being nice!

Logistically it's very well-connected to the capital and to international airports while at the same time offering a safe, friendly and picturesque environment to bring up a family. It's no wonder it's one of the top 3 cities in Spain with a very high quality of life even though it can get a little a sticky in the summer months! Volunteering & Charity work

I've always tried to be an active member of my community and help whenever possible. At an early age I was a volunteer at Dulmore Youth Group in Dulwich, South London where we organised jumble sales, sponsored walks and much more to help local charities. I was chosen to meet Princess

I also volunteered while at University in Liverpool to help a local Church Youth Club at weekends where I gained experience as a DJ.

I have helped in numerous fund-raising events in collaboration with a range of organisations including the Sydenham Catholic Club.

I ran the 2025 London Marathon and helped Asthma & Lung UK raise over £1 million and joined the Guinness Book of World Records twice - for the most amount of money raised for charity in a single day event & the most amount of marathon finishers.

I raised €1152 for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland when I ran the 2025 Dublin Marathon.

Trying new experiences and pushing my limits to show discipline, perserverence, resilience, goal-setting, mental toughness, focus, self-motivation, detrmination and endurance

I am motivated by learning new things, having new life experiences and pushing the limits of my comfort zone in order to continue growing as a person. Here is an example of how I overcame my vertigo. I carried out 6 jumps while I was part of the skydiving federation of Spain.

I have also pushed my limits by running a half-marathon in Cordoba and the 2025 London Marathon for the Asthma + Lung UK charity.

I also ran the Dublin Marathon in aid of the Alzheimer's Society in October 2025, The Seville Marathon in 2026 and the New York marathon in 2026.

Organic rooftop gardener

I enjoy looking after my organic rooftop vegetable garden made from reclaimed wooden palettes with automatic water drip system to save water which I set up myself.

Sporting all-rounder

I have always enjoyed taking part in a wide range of sports and like to try my hand at new sports too - all except basketball as the basket keeps moving! No, it does, honestly!!!
