Paula Rocha, MD is a multilingual and dedicated physician and medical researcher originally from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Dr. Rocha graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas in São Paulo, Brazil, and has earned certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the USA.
Currently, Dr. Rocha is a medical resident in the esteemed family medicine residency program at UMiami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, the first and oldest in the United States.
In addition, Dr. Rocha is passionate about bridging language barriers in healthcare and professionally speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Since 2020, she has offered online Medical Portuguese lessons to physicians and medical students, helping them communicate effectively with Brazilian patients. Her impact is evident: one of her students achieved language competency in Brazilian Portuguese at Massachusetts General Hospital, enabling them to care for Brazilian children with developmental disabilities.
Dr. Rocha's commitment to global health and multiculturalism is longstanding. As a former leader of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations of Brazil (IFMSA Brazil) at PUC Campinas, she has cultivated international connections and championed diversity in healthcare.
