Philosophy of Music Education
Music education is an important part of the curriculum that is needed to help the student grow as a whole. Not only is music education needed to grow academically, it is also needed to help develop life long learning, making connections to cultures, application and backgrounds, and growing both socially and emotionally.
Why choose education specifically music education
Paul Umberger has always had a strong connection to the performing arts from a young age. He has always been involved with school and community performance opportunities. Paul has greatly enjoyed these opportunities and has a duty on passing the joy he has had with performing to the next generation. Additionally, his time in the United States Air Force gave him solidarity in serving his nation. Educator's specifically also have an obligation to upholding their duty to serving their country by preparing the next generation to be ready. Having now done both is what gives him the drive and passion to be the best educator possible.

Paul has always found it in the best interest of his students to all achieve a level of success in his classroom through a welcoming, challenging, engaging, and differentiating lesson structure. Paul is always developing an understanding of his students and will always embrace a challenge to better improve his classroom.
