Scouting Basics

Scouting provides an emphasis on character and leadership development along with a variety of outdoor skills. These iinclude; Citizenship, Fitness, First Aid, Aquatics, Nature, Outdoor Ethics, Hiking, Camping, Cooking, Navigation, Tools (knots, etc), and Personal Safety Awareness.

Advancement includes 7 ranks; Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle

The last 3 scout ranks require merit badges of which there are over 135.
