The Boy Scouts of America is an organization focused on developing young boys into responsible, well rounded leaders with good character, and with a love of the outdoors. Founded in the United States in 1910 by William D. Boyce, Ernest Thompson Seton, and Daniel Carter Beard with goal "to promote [...] the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues" (Congressional Charter).
