#1 on the Ballot and #1 for Commissioner of District 3
Provide for our needs before our wants
Spend on public benefit that serves the whole community
Approve responsible conservative budgets for our county
Encourage citizens' attention to fiscal court meetings for information regarding generating and application of tax dollars by providing updates
Promote our quality of life and overall affordability of our county
Prioritize performance based incentives. Recruit businesses that benefit after actually delivering jobs or investment to Johnson County first.
Johnson County is better off when everyone is working together in order to finally reach our fullest potential as a county. We need our government to have a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) approach to projects and ask questions like "Who isn't benefiting here and how can we adjust for a better outcome in the future". I feel collaboration between city, county, and state levels of government are a must for success.
Continue the oversight and observation of our 261 miles of county roads out of 537 total miles of roads throughout Johnson County. Our county roads almost account for 50% of our roads throughout the county. This information comes from the Kentucky Association of Counties website.
We have to apply available funding where the greatest needs are located. I would also work diligently to secure above and beyond resources that might be available to help us with our infrastructure. This is a priority area I want to focus on if elected. Once again as a part time bus driver I see the importance of the work our area road crews do in a first hand way.
Safe and reliable water/sewer services in order to help attract new businesses that want to locate here.
Available access to utilities adds to the overall quality of life, making the community more attractive for its citizens and potential future growth.
Paintsville Lake and Campground in my opinion is one the best places for outdoor recreation in all of Eastern Kentucky. Supportive of the Florida Bass Experiment (F1s) to Paintsville Lake.
Focus on the outdoor adventure aspect of what beautiful landscapes we have throughout Johnson County.
Through adventure tourism opportunities it could lead to potential new lodging or hospitality industry expansion locally.
Let's make sure to give our police force and local first responders the resources needed to keep our community strong and families protected. If possible through looking at the budget process I would like to see more money allocated towards staffing and salaries to make sure we have the best around to keep our county safe.
Recreational/Youth Activities
Let's try to bring back a local movie theatre to Paintsville/Johnson County community.
We should not have to drive to Pikeville or Ashland in order to watch a movie with our own family and friends. Let's find a way to build it here and invest our money locally.
This is a great opportunity to not only gain business, but also help with our local high school by having a place to practice and host future events. This is also an activity people of all ages can participate in.
We have to find a way to get these BOTH back again in Johnson County!
As a local farmer (cattle and sheep) we have a large agriculture sector within our county specifically in District 3. We need to continue to promote and advocate for our industry. That may be through small scale crop production, home goods, livestock, etc. I would like to work with other state level legislators to help expand our states Food Cottage laws/regulations because this is an opportunity for families to make money off products they are producing or making right here in our community.
I would also like to help with the future investment, planning, and creation of a county fair to come to fruition here to help us get back to our agricultural history as a county.
I believe we have to dream big dreams in order for us to even begin seeing our true potential. With the eventual completion of the Mountain parkway along with future upgrades to Route 460 from Salyersville to Paintsville. I feel like the time is NOW to make investments right here in Johnson County, but more importantly invest in our greatest resource our people. I plan to support and continue to build on the steps moving us forward. But I need you, your vision, your thoughts, your presence to help me lead us moving forward. I am someone that cares, someone that will listen, and someone you can trust to do right for all of District #3.
I am ready to work for you. I would be truly honored over the next couple months to earn your trust, support and vote!
