#1 on the Ballot and #1 for Commissioner of District 3
I plan to continue with the progress that has been made, while at the same time offering a new approach, new ideas and a new energy to the fiscal court. I believe with all my heart some of the best people live right here in Johnson County—people that have helped shape the person I am today, along with people I’ve worked with and all of those I am proud to call my friends and neighbors.
I want this to be a place where in the future my own children will want to live and call home someday. I am running to be the voice and advocate for all the people living in District 3. I strongly believe that local government has the most direct impact on the citizens and the community because those people like myself live here, work here, and spend most of our hard earned money here locally. At the local level of government you actually have accessibility with the person elected to office.
I have called the Flat Gap area home for most of my life. Attending Flat Gap Elementary School from Kindergarten through Sixth grade and Flat Gap Baptist Church at an early age. Soon after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University I decided to move back to the Flat Gap area about 14 years ago after marrying my wife Lindsey O'Bryan Patrick. We are now blessed with two beautiful children Jacob and Ella. Upon returning back home in the fall of 2010 I started working in the Johnson County School District as an instructional assistant and basketball coach at Highland Elementary. The following year I started teaching 5th Grade American history for the next 7 years. More recently during the last 5 years of my career I have served as an Assistant Principal at Highland Elementary and W.R. Castle Elementary. While recently getting back into coaching basketball again this time at Flat Gap Elementary School. Additionally, over the last four years I obtained my CDL license in order to become a substitute bus driver. I can confidently say with first hand knowledge what county roads are in good shape, compared to what county roads need some necessary attention in the future throughout District 3.
In 2022, I was elected countywide to the Soil and Water Conservation District Board for Johnson County. Serving on the board and being a part of the budget committee has allowed me the opportunity to experience how government works by managing county taxpayer dollars to best serve the needs of our local conservation district. Now I feel it is the right time to step up and expand my voice and leadership to serve as your next Commissioner of District 3.
Thank you to everyone up to this point that has supported and encouraged me to run for this position. I truly look forward to the opportunity to listen to any suggestions, your hopes, your dreams, and ideas of how best to serve our community and be committed to Johnson County now and for our future!
