My husband, Paul, and I live on the East Coast in a suburban area near Washington, D.C. Paul is an economist, and I am starting a new career in teaching (previously a statistical computer programmer). We both work with children as volunteers in music ministry and religious education, and as occasional hosts for exchange/foreign students. We also enjoy working on our house, hiking, biking, walking our dog, Rex - a lab-husky mix, family reunions, getting together with friends, and sightseeing. Other interests include amateur astronomy, though mainly as a source of inspiration for writing. A few years ago, I set up a WordPress blog on the myths related to our constellations, with a few other updates on Mars missions and other topics of general interest. I enjoy gardening on the ground and recently added native plants to our mix of other nursery plants.
In addition to teaching, I directed a children's and adult Bell Choir for 8 years at a local parish. I am currently a member of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce and a 'Dear Friend' member of the Friends and Foundation of the Howard County Public Library.
