Is it finally over?
Admittedly, the game ended up taking a huge turn toward the end for the sake of completion (especially the code somewhat ironically).
It only vaguely now has the gameplay feel of Patch Odyssey, but lacks everything else in terms of character, style, substance, … e.t.c.
Now? The aesthetics so different I can’t even tell they’re within the ballpark of the same genre (twin-stick shooter?)
Now it looks like a minimalist deep-techno retro-esque mobile top-down shoot-em’ up. Which is alright enough for the base of a developing video game, but as it is now, this is not Patch Odyssey.
…
Will Patch Odyssey ever see the light of day?
It depends,
on one hand, it’s development was tenuous given the circumstances it was only made relevant in: school, and
on the other, maybe… It’s genuinely not a definite no, but here’s to hoping responsibilities won’t drag this idea away
So who knows?
As a Final Major Project, I wish I could have done better,
especially to represent what my Bachelor’s course is capable of academically, but as of reality, we work to improve ourselves for when the next opportunity arrives.
