Rtn.Yug Jung Karki
President
Rotaract Patan Heritage
Greetings, fellow Rotaractors!
I am grateful and privileged to serve as a chartered president of the Rotaract Club of Patan Heritage chartered on 20th October 2022. Through our club, we will always do our utmost best to meet the main Rotaract objectives, which include development of professional and leadership skills, providing opportunities for young people to address the concerns of the community, work in collaboration with the sponsoring rotary club, and attempting to reach as many youths as we can and bring them into this wonderful organization, Rotary International. By pursuing these Rotaract objectives, we aim to touch and contribute to as many lives as possible.
As quoted by Bill Gates,” As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.” For the period 2022-2023, my aim with our club will always be to empower others to work in such a way that every single one of us will be able to develop ourselves as future leaders of the nation in eclectic sectors. Added to that, we will be looking to work towards a few key areas including, taking steps towards preserving our local heritage which is of paramount importance, we also have a great affinity towards the health of our community so our efforts will also be directed towards that sector, striving to empower our members in the networking space will also be of primary importance, as we believe in the value of networking in the modern era, along with this, we will also work on and introduce initiatives in line with opportunities for career growth. Overall, our focus will be to work towards the betterment of society and also enhance the career-relevant skills of every member connected with us. As a leader, it is my responsibility to ensure that the organization has a free-flowing, growth-oriented, and goal-compliance environment. It is also crucial to understand the significance of all the individuals within the organization having a common thought process and working towards a common goal.
Finally, I would like to take this wonderful opportunity to acknowledge all the members and board members of our club, as it is an honor for me to work with such brilliant and diligent individuals who, I am sure, will contribute to the growth of the organization. It is also therefore a challenge for the new board of directors and me to ensure Rotaract Club of Patan Heritage fulfills the club’s objective and also establishes our club an ever sustainable organization. Similarly, I would also like to express my gratitude to the Rotary Club of Patan Heritage for your unwavering support and encouragement on every step of our journey, thank you for empowering us to see a wonderful future, and making us believe it can be obtained.
Thank you Rtn Ganesh Karki for supporting Rotaract Club of Patan Heritage

Deusi Bhailo Event 2022
Tihar is referred to as the festival of lights since cities all throughout the nation decorate with bright lights. The festival of colorful lights feels incomplete without Deusi-Bhailo. Marking the celebration of Tihar and Nhu Daya Bhintuna 1143 (Nepal Sambat 1143), members of Rotaract Club of Patan Heritage along with members of Rotary Club of Patan Heritage gathered at CP Rtn. Ganesh Karki’s residence to commemorate Deusi-Bhailo on 22nd October 2022.
At 3 p.m., the celebration officially began with a welcome to all rotary and rotaract members of Patan Heritage, followed by classical and Newari dance performances, music performances, and deusi bhailo performances. Everyone was pleased, and the performances fostered fellowship among the members. The program came to a close with rotary members performing Musical Chair. It indeed showcased our unity and our ability to come together to celebrate our festival.
Heritage Walk
Rotary Club of Patan Heritage organised a heritage walk at the historical heritage Patan Durbar Square. Our fellow rotaractians from RTCPH participated in the walk on 26th November.
Rotaract Club of Patan Heritage believes in promoting and preserving the culture and heritage starting in their locality. It works to enlighten more about the precious history that Patan holds by conducting programmes like Heritage Walk where an expert briefly describes the historical story behind each sight of the locality and heritage which brings us closer to our ancestors
Heritage walk in Patan is one of the best walks to discover all the important monuments, streets, lifestyles and attractions of the town. Patan, located on the southeast of Kathmandu, was an independent small kingdom until 1768 AD. The kingdom during that time was ruled by the kings from the Malla dynasty. Another name of Patan is Lalitpur which literally signifies the city of beautiful arts. The artists who work with metal are concentrated in Patan till now. Patan produces different types of handicraft especially out of metal but they also work on stone and woods too. The people who work with silver are also concentrated in Patan.
Heritage walk is different from regular sightseeing as it takes you to the small streets and temples which were constructed back in different centuries. The walk also takes you to see some of the oldest remaining Bahals, water spouts and local markets where the local people do their shopping. These types of streets are especially wonderful to see the lifestyles of the local people
