Why be a member of PASWI?
RA 10847, known as the amendment of the Social Work Law, explicitly requires in Section 27 that all registered and licensed social workers must belong to the Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO). The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) is the designated AIPO for social workers in the Philippines per PRBSW Resolution No. 07 series of 2024. This means that PASWI membership is a legal obligation for all Registered Social Workers (RSWs) in the country.
RA 10847 mandates CPD for all RSWs. PASWI offers numerous CPD opportunities through seminars, workshops, conferences, and training programs, essential for license renewal and skills enhancement. These programs provide valuable training on topics such as trauma-informed care, which strengthens the capacity of social workers to work with vulnerable sectors.
PASWI provides a platform for social workers to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other. This professional network facilitates valuable support, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities.
PASWI members can access various resources, including publications, and research materials (PASWI Journal) which aid in professional development and staying updated on the latest trends in social work. These resources contribute to maintaining a high level of professional competence.
PASWI provides avenues for members to develop leadership skills and contribute to the profession by taking on roles such as Officers of local chapters, coordinatorships and National Board membership.
