The Venue

Facilities at St. John’s College

St. John's College, founded in 1511, is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges at the University of Cambridge.

The formal dining experience will be held in The Parsons Room at St. John's College, which is named after the renowned engineer Sir Charles Parsons, a St. John's alumnus who invented the steam turbine, and embodies a blend of academic heritage and refined elegance. This distinguished dining venue, with its tasteful decor and warm ambiance, offers an intimate setting for formal meals and gatherings. It is not just a dining space but a tribute to a legacy of engineering excellence.

This formal dinner typically includes a high-quality three-course meal of a variety of gourmet dishes, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. The dress code is smart casual to formal.

Old Divinity School Lecture Theatre

The lectures will be held at The Old Divinity School Lecture Theatre at St. John's College. This beautifully restored 19th-century venue blends Victorian elegance with modern facilities, featuring high ceilings, stained glass, and advanced audio-visual technology. It can seat up to 180 people, creating an ideal environment for academic lectures and discussions. Its blend of historical charm and contemporary convenience makes it a distinguished setting for our symposium.
