The formal dining experience will be held in The Parsons Room at St. John's College, which is named after the renowned engineer Sir Charles Parsons, a St. John's alumnus who invented the steam turbine, and embodies a blend of academic heritage and refined elegance. This distinguished dining venue, with its tasteful decor and warm ambiance, offers an intimate setting for formal meals and gatherings. It is not just a dining space but a tribute to a legacy of engineering excellence.
This formal dinner typically includes a high-quality three-course meal of a variety of gourmet dishes, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. The dress code is smart casual to formal.
Old Divinity School Lecture Theatre
The lectures will be held at The Old Divinity School Lecture Theatre at St. John's College. This beautifully restored 19th-century venue blends Victorian elegance with modern facilities, featuring high ceilings, stained glass, and advanced audio-visual technology. It can seat up to 180 people, creating an ideal environment for academic lectures and discussions. Its blend of historical charm and contemporary convenience makes it a distinguished setting for our symposium.
Getting Here
You do not need to enter St. John's gate and court to get to the Old Divinity School Lecture Theatre. This lecture Theatre is located in the Old Divinity School, which is across St. John's street from the main gate of St. John's College. If you go along the small path showing in the picture, you will see the entrance to the Old Divinity School, and there will be signs showing the direction

Nearest Airports: The closest major international airport is London Stansted. London Heathrow and London Gatwick are also nearby. Each offers a range of international and domestic flights.
Transport from Airports to Cambridge:
From Stansted: Stansted Airport offers the closest and most direct train and coach service to Cambridge, with a journey time of about 30-50 minutes.
From Heathrow: Direct train services are available from Heathrow to London Paddington, followed by a connecting train to Cambridge. Alternatively, coaches are available directly to Cambridge.
From Gatwick: Direct train services are available from Gatwick Airport to Cambridge.
