Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA members in providing life-altering treatment. PASHA is proud of its past community service events to celebrate this special month.

Free Hearing and Speech & Language Screenings
In 2024, PASHA partnered with local groups to provide free speech and language screenings at the Peoria Public Library Main Branch. Children, birth to 7, were able to take advantage of the free screenings.
Communication Boards
Communication Boards
In 2022, Two hundred low-tech AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) boards were distributed to local ambulances and first responders. The 200 total boards were divided between AMT and EMS ambulances. They are on ambulances for use by first responders in emergency situations in the tri-county area.

In 2021, books collected were distribuated to the Crittenton Center and Pediatric Ambultory Center.
The drive collected:
128 books donated to The Crittenton Center
113 books donated to the Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic
$250 in free books from the Usborne books party & PayPal donations
