Prof. Athanasios Paschalis is an Assistant Professor in Hydrology in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus, and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London. His research focuses on hydrological and ecosystem modelling, soil–plant–atmosphere interactions, catchment hydrology, stochastic and statistical hydrology, weather and climate data analysis, and water resources management, with an emphasis on linking process understanding to quantitative modelling and decision-making.
He received his PhD in Hydrology from ETH Zurich. He holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the Higher Education Academy (UK). Prior to joining the University of Cyprus in 2025, he held academic positions at Imperial College London, progressing from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in Hydrology. His earlier research experience includes postdoctoral appointments at University of Southampton, Duke University, and ETH Zurich.
