Teaching

Pascal Gantet’s teaching activities

I am currently teaching Plant Biology, Plant Physiology and Plant Molecular Biology for students in life sciences at different levels, from the first to the fifth year of University studies.

My favourite domains are:

General plant biology,

Plant physiology

Plant biotechnology

Genetic and molecular control of plant development,

Gene expression regulation

Metabolic engineering,

Phytopathology

Tranposons and genomics

In addition to my current teaching activities I am in charge of the organization of different teaching units.

Since 2015 I am deputy director of the doctorate school GAIA of University of Montpellier, I follow the students doing their PhD in the field of "Biologie Integrative, Diversité et Amelioration des Plantes"

From 2015 to 2019 I am involved in the management team of the international training program in plant breeding "CultiVar".

In 2009-2014 I directed the Department and the related Master degree "Biotechnology/Pharmacology" of the University of Science and Technic of Hanoi, Vietnam :

Some years ago I developed e-learning web sites for plant biology for first-year University students.

One of them was developed in the scope of an interdisciplinary National initiative of the “Ministère de l’Education Nationale de la Recherche et de la Technologie” (French Education Minister). For this project I have managed the creation of the Plant Biology and Physiology teaching unit and developed the chapter “Caractéristiques et évolution des grands groupes végétaux” (Characteristics and evolution of the main plant groups). Five entries are available for each section: course, exercises, self-assessement, observations and simulations. If you are French-speaking, have a look, you will enjoy it! Follow the links “biologie”, “biologie et physiologie végétales” choose a sub-chapter and then choose between “apprendre”, “simuler”….
