Nguyen Dieu Thu is a Vietnamese PhD studen enrolled from January 2017 in doctoral study program Palacky University Olomouc in Biochemistry, theme "Initiation and development of crown roots in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.): genetic investigation and comparison with rice, the plant model for cereals". (advisor Véronique Bergougnoux; consultant Pascal Gantet: 2017 - 2024). Financial support: Fischer scholarship program from Palacky University Olomouc for foreigner students.
Marie Rose Ndella THIAW is a Senegalese PhD student supported by a Dostorate contract of University of Montpellier and the French Ministry of High Education, Research and Innovation, MESRI from november 2020 to April 2024) under the direction of Pascal Gantet. She is working on the functionnal characterisation of genes modulating root architecture and water deficit tolerance in rice. This work will be developed in collaboration with Limagrain Company and CIRAD.
TRAN Hien Linh is a Vietnamese PhD student supported for one half by an excellence PhD thesis fellowship from the French Embassy in Vietnam and for the other half by the Agronomical Gennetics Institute of Hanoi, Vietnam, from March 2022 to February 2025. She doing her PhD under the direction of Pascal Gantet and the supervision of Dr. Hoang Thi Giang (Agronomical Gennetics Institute of Hanoi) and of Alexandre Grondin (IRD Montpellier). She is working on QTLs detection associated will root anatomical traits contributing to ion accumulation in rice seed. This work is developed part time in France and part time in Vietnam.
Gitesh MASRAM is an Indian PhD student supported by the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) through Campus France. His research tenure spans from August 2023 to July 2026. Gitesh is working under the co-direction of Pr. Pascal Gantet and Dr. Stefan Jouannic (IRD Montpellier), with co-supervision from Dr. Shri Ram Yadav (IIT Roorkee) and Dr. Mikael Lucas (IRD Montpellier). His research focuses on the Conservation and divergence in the function and regulatory networks downstream of PLETHORA genes in the control of different branching events in rice. The majority of this work will be conducted at UMR Diade IRD Montpellier, France, with a portion carried out at IIT Roorkee, India.
