During Partners Week, MLIS students from the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta meet one-on-one with library and other information professionals to learn first-hand about the work environment of a library and to discuss some of the current issues in librarianship.
It is also a great opportunity for students to check out potential careers and put their schoolwork into context.
Partners Week also provides professionals with an opportunity to meet aspiring librarians and learn about the latest trends in library and information studies education.
For each week (in October or January), each student can sign up to meet with an information professional. These meetings can occur in-person or remotely, depending on local health regulations and student/professional preference.
