Participatory video

Congrats! downStream was accepted to the B.E.A.T exhibition.

I could arrange for a machine to be installed, however, I like the idea of a QR code more. It then situates the work outside of the gallery space, but still included in an exhibition.

I mentioned it being open to public contribution. But I am worried about getting "dick pics" added, but it may be a good exercise for a couple of students to practice being moderators.

Let's talk about potentially making a submission for B.E.A.T. Exhibit. We would then make this the class activity for the participatory video topic in our next 3 classes.

Video artists - we are seeking works of video art for projections

Digital art - we are seeking a number of still images for projections that will rotate throughout the exhibit. (submit up to 5) Standalone installation and creative technology assistance - We need help building some projects and may have room for a small number of additional installations.

Hollow is a web-based documentary and participatory project that examines the future of rural America through the residents of West Virginia's McDowell County.

Henry Jenkins is a scholar on participatory culture. This TED talk isn't specific to video, but it will give a good grounding on participatory storytelling.
