The distance our dollars go just isn't the same. Average grocery prices are up nearly 20% on average (if you have one near you in the first place!) and nearly 1-in-5 renters spend 100% of their income on rent. Meanwhile, those who spend about 30% of their income towards rent are considered burdened, although in Denver only two years ago, nearly 60% of disabled renter households spend more than a third of their income on rent.
We need to get to work for the working class.
Increase outreach to business owners across the state, especially those nearing retirement, by highlighting employee ownership as a viable and beneficial succession plan.
Repeal the Colorado Labor Peace Act, unleashing the power of worker solidarity in the face of this fascist administration — we need the biggest secondary strike we can muster: a general strike. And Congress needs to Pass the PRO Act for all workers!
