We celebrate and highlight what your participation in the PTA has achieved for our
Park Village students in 2025-2026!
Science Olympiad
Our school sent 3 teams totalling 45 students who competed on behalf of our school to the Science Olympiad Regionals Competition. Park Village won 3rd place among all the schools in San Diego County. Thanks to all the coaches for their many hours teaching topics from anatomy, carbon cycle and solar system to mentoring build events like straw tower and pasta-made race cars.
Math Olympiad - 35 students represented our school in the national MOEMS math olympiad. Our school received the award for "Highest Team Achievement" for the 3rd year in a row for the San Diego region. Our volunteers also registered our school for the first time as a Math Kangaroo test site; many students from 1st-5th grade participated and did very well!
FIRST LEGO League
FLL Challenge (4th & 5th graders) - 4 teams explored the Archaeology theme "Unearthed" and presented different innovative project ideas to help with artifact discovery and preservation. 2 teams made it to the Regionals Competition and won awards for CORE values and Innovative Project.
FLL Explore (1st-3rd graders) - 8 teams created their own models of different ancient civilizations of the world like the Parthenon, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu and Egypt. The students gave a short presentation about their models and were awarded for their accomplishments.
Reflections Arts Program
We had great representation of all the grades from TK-5th for visual arts, music composition and literature for the theme "I Belong". Several of our students were showcased for Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit in the Palomar Council and Ninth District PTA (San Diego County). We were able to present awards and create an art gallery for submissions at the PV Talent Show.
Science Fair
Our PV PTA held our 5th annual Science Fair where students shared various projects ranging from bouncing soap bubbles, bird calls, viscosity levels, circuits, buoyancy, renewable energy and more. We were also fortunate to have exhibitors from Gear-Up robotics, San Diego Park Rangers, Mathnasium and PQ Stemsters.
Running Club
Volunteers and students came faithfully every Wednesday and Friday morning before school to run laps. Many kids ran over 100 laps of the field through the school year and were awarded medals for their dedication.
Spelling Bee
We held our 3rd annual spelling bee for both younger grades (TK-2nd) and older grades (3rd-5th). Thank you to all our teacher volunteers who served as pronouncers (Kirkland, Magana) and judges (Josten, Doud, Stanley, Santos, Rutherford). Our top 2 spellers moved on to participate in the Palomar Council Spelling Bee.
Chill Zone
Our PTA was awarded a $750 program grant from the PTA Ninth District to create an indoor recess wellness space that offers a calm, inclusive environment to recharge and regulate during recess and unstructured times. With the help of our student council, Ms. King & Ms. Scott we converted the old computer room to be a usable space with games, crafts, art supplies, seating, soft lighting and sensory boards. We are excited to have the space for students to enjoy for years to come
We would not have been able to do so much last year without the help of our volunteers. BIG THANKS to Principal Amie Tillman for her leadership at Park Village Elementary and for her tremendous support for PTA activities. Gigi Marquez has been instrumental for assisting us in securing rooms for holding classes and getting the volunteer clearance needed for our coaches. Thanks also to the volunteers who have submitted volunteer hours for corporate matching so that we can continue to offer these programs and more.
