Parker Olsen is an Associate Broadcast Producer at Civic Media in Madison, Wisconsin. There, he produces a statewide morning news talk show, "Mornings With Pat Kreitlow," and contributes to news and sports coverage. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, his emphasis in broadcast, web and print. He completed a minor in electronic media along with certificates in video production and sports communication.
Olsen worked at the UW-Whitewater student newspaper, the Royal Purple, for four years. Originally hired as Assistant Sports Editor, he worked up the ranks to Editor in Chief. During his time in sports he helped expand Royal Purple sports coverage to two sections, one for men's and another for women's sports. His two years in management advanced his leadership skills and have allowed for him to gain the valuable asset of versatility.
Olsen also worked a year as the News Director at 91.7 The Edge WSUW Whitewater. He hosted a weekly live on-air news show. In addition to his news show he created and hosted "Warhawk Talk," a UW-W sports panel show with student media leaders.
He is a decorated student journalist, recognized by the Milwaukee Press Club and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. Throughout his college career he received awards for articles he wrote for the Royal Purple covering UW-W sports and alumni achievements.
Along with his work at the campus newspaper, radio station, as well as some work at UWW-TV, Olsen freelances. He has been published by D3Hoops.com, Adams Publishing Group and contributes to warhawkfootball.com. During the summers he is a camera operator for the award winning broadcasts of Madison Mallards baseball & Night Mares softball games.
