MCPS is committed to establishing protocols, practices, and infrastructure related to the critical imperative of maintaining a safe, orderly learning environment for all students. Eastern Middle School has two full-time security assistants on staff. In addition, the school has multiple closed-circuit cameras inside and outside of the school and on school buses. The school uses a visitor access system, along with other devices, to monitor visitors and watch for unusual activity. All Eastern staff are expected to follow and enforce established policies and procedures designed to keep our students safe. Parents should be aware that although these procedures may at times seem excessive, they are in place for the protection of all students.
