Coaches
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every individual athlete as a human being
Respect the talent, development stage and goals of each athlete in order to reach their full potential.
Maintain high standards of integrity
Operate within the rules of the sport and in the spirit of fair play, while encouraging your athletes to do the same
Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions
Be a positive role model for the sport and athletes and act in a way that projects a positive image of coaching make a commitment to providing a quality service to your athletes
Provide a safe environment for training and competition
Protect your athletes from any form of personal abuse
Parents and Supporters
Applaud the performance of both teams.
Be positive with the umpire and acknowledge their efforts.
Let players play their game not yours.
Praise efforts, not results.
Set an example for the players.
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities and void the use of derogatory language for any reason.
Recognise the value and importance of volunteer coaches. They give of their time and resources to provide recreational activities for the children and deserve your support.
Recognise the importance of training sessions. This is a team sport and requires all team members to understand the game, their role and conduct on the diamond, and to ensure that they are safe while participating.
Please do not have a confrontation during the game. If you are unhappy with any decision made by the coach, please talk to the coach after the game (away from the players) or contact a junior committee member to resolve.
Please talk to a junior committee member if you think your child is in the incorrect team.
Please do not change your child to a different team.
WSA Zero Tolerance Policy
A registered participant in organised softball or any spectator will not indulge in any unsportsmanlike behaviour towards other participants, spectators or officials involved in a recognised softball activity including organised training and will adhere to the relevant WSA Zero Tolerance Policy. Unsportsmanlike behaviour will include, but not be limited to:
Verbal abuse and threats
Physical abuse and/or assault
Discrimination
Harassment
Making derogatory statements or gestures
Cheating
Visible dissention of a decision of an umpire or official in an unsportsmanlike manner
Equipment Abuse
