The Public Academy for Performing Arts (PAPA) charter school opened its doors to the first 180 students in August 2001. A group of parents and teachers decided to create the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) in 2010 to help serve the school.
The primary purpose of the PAPA PTSO is to support the school community, including students, teachers, parents, and staff. The PTSO general meetings are open to anyone who wishes to support the school. We hold various fundraisers to meet the current needs of our budget, and all fundraising events are open to the public. Teachers, staff, and parents are reimbursed for school-related expenses that benefit the students.
The PTSO Board Officers are volunteers elected every 2 years. The annual meeting is held in April for officer election. We are in need of officers for this year and next year, so please email us at papaabq@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping out!
