Biog: I was born in Milan, Italy sometime after the industrial revolution - to leave it vague - and I am still alive in 2020. so it must be no more than 40 years ago or so at any given time. I was curious and became rather argumentative when I was around 6 years old and realised that adults were often wrong but rarely admitted it. I was always punished for telling the truth and became a bit dysfunctional because I could not reconcile the two truths, the paradox and hypocrisy were too big for me to handle
In Milan I studied I studied languages, humanities, History of the Arts, general administration including jurisprudence and contract law, and technical subjects. Worked on contract at the international airport, part time in engineering management, music publishing and journalism. Enrolled at University of Milan changing facutly but never graduated. Moved to London where I continued to freelance as an engineering contractor, tutor, teacher and journalist but actually, cound not make my mind up as to what I wanted to do, I ws not taken seriously really
Graduated South Bank University. (BA Hons 1995) worked as a London based correspondent for major international publications, learned how to use a computer and the internet, and covered current affairs. art exhibition. communication. In particular the communication of science and technology.
To help me write more meaningfully about new technology advances, I enrolled in a postgraduate course in Information Systems and studied with great people like Les Gilbert, now Emeritus Fellow at Soton, UK I would spend my spare time hanging out at the Music Department (Coleridge House) and performed in choir (including Canterbury Cathedral, where I used to spend hours in mystic ecstasy) and managed to put together a few art projects which were exhibited at Art shows and at Antiques Fairs. Started Practicing Tai Chi with Catherine Robinson in Hythe and then with chinese teachers of various styles. I ended up spending time in the place of the immortals in China (Hubei Province) and left my heart there, while the rest of me tried to move on in the world.
Worked on a bunch of projects, editorial and tech, and as a lecturer. I was a lecturer in the department of Computer Science at PSU and MFU in Thailand. worked on various scholarly projects and in 2009 started a PhD (2012, University of Strathclyde). I then went back to Asia and was a faculty member at IIT Mandi (2012-14), started my own teaching and research Lab. In 2018 I moved o Taiwan to work on Neuromorphic Systems among other things, and to learn mandarin, which is what I am doing now, together with more Tai Chi, more art, more engineering and neuroscience research. Ah, I double in complementary health practice and yes, I do have some form of ADHD which makes my brain powerful and fragile at the same time.
I love nature especially minerals and plants and the outdoors, sailing, paragliding. I need to spend hours on the beach or on hillsides to let the mind relax and take a break from all the thinking. And yes, I am appropriately paranoid on top of everything.
I am now working on publications based on the last ten years of research, which include some training materials, coursework, science and art. I am hoping to get a Nobel prize for something.
That was the relative
THE ULTIMATE: well, ultimately. I take form and substance, continually refined. Ultimately I am consciousness. I am spread thin and aware that I am buring out fast, so let everything just be as it is.
