Pants on Fire fills a crying need for the focus on the devil and his tireless efforts to trap people, good ones and bad, with falsehoods. Only when a Christian believer develops the skill to spot the devil’s lies before they cause shipwreck, will we begin to experience genuine freedom—signed, sealed and delivered by The King of Truth, Jesus Christ Himself.

This book has ten chapters, each with a different flair. The content is divided into 100 brief essays, each easily finished before you down your first morning cuppa coffee. You can read from Day one to Day 100, of course. Or you could choose a chapter that piques your interest and read the essays contained therein. Even skipping around will serve the purpose, if you read with care and let the essay tickle your thinking throughout the day ahead. Reading two or three in a row might present a better context for your thinking.

Notice too that each day includes a lie of the devil and God’s appropriate reply. You’ll also find 50 more lies of the devil, listed with the original 100, at the end of the book, in a truth–telling exercise. Each day’s essay includes an “Interact” section where application of the day’s truth is the aim. Feel free to do all of the Interact, or choose one question that helps you take the truth to heart. Some people don’t find journaling helpful. If that’s you, just skip it. I’m all for customizing the experience so you can grow closer to God and become a bloodhound, sniffing out the devil’s deceit.

Borrowing the methods of the Great Storyteller, Jesus, I’ve included stories wherever they advance the biblical narrative. Stories can be powerful, and my prayer is that they will pull you into the concepts contained in Pants on Fire.

I hope you’re as excited about what’s to come as I was in writing it. If it influences your faith walk with God, I’m ecstatic. That is my highest goal.
